Steps for Buying

1.      Visit our model homes and showroom in Watertown, NY.  We have several floor plans, brochures and other informational packets that will help you with the layout of your dream home.  Be sure to meet with our staff and ask questions.  We use a Chief Architect Program to assist you with your custom design.

2.      PRE-QUALIFY and get pre-approved.  Go to a financial institution of your choice!

3.      Find a building lot, if you don’t already have one.  If you are new to the area we can help by  referring you to local Real Estate Brokers.

4.      Set up an appointment with STROUGH CUSTOM HOMES so we can inspect the property site. We want to make sure there will be no problems ahead of time preventing a set on your site.

5.      Get a perk test done immediately, if your site will require an individual Septic system.  All septic systems must be engineered per NY State Requirements.

6.      Obtain Proposal from STROUGH CUSTOM HOMES for mortgage application.

7.      Apply for a home mortgage.

8.      Finalize floor plans and sign contract.

9.      Final step- We will need a copy of your loan commitment letter with a down payment and a copy of your building permit. Let’s ORDER YOUR DREAM HOME!
